With Halloween falling on Monday, there are events all over the Permian Basin this weekend to help get your celebration on. Drive safely, and be sure to watch out for any little ones crossing the road. And always watch out for the clowns….oh the clowns.
Odessa starts the celebrating on Saturday with the annual “BooFest”, a family-friendly Halloween event. Located at Noel Heritage Plaza (320 W. 5th Street), the family can enjoy face painting, giveaways, costume contests and food trucks starting at 4pm. Stick around and at 7pm the Zombie Brigade will begin their famous Zombie Walk. Then fun and safe trick or treating will start at 7:30pm at downtown businesses.
If you don’t have little ones, head to downtown Midland Saturday night for The HamHocks double feature at the Yucca, featuring the movies “Clue” and “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”! Doors open at 8:00pm and there is a cash bar and costume contests. Go to mctmidland.org for tickets and more info.
And what is more Halloween-y than a helicopter ride? “Halloween and Helicopter Rides” is pretty descriptive, and it takes place at Fiddlestick Farms on Saturday starting at 10am. With a corn maze, hay rides, pumpkin patch and everyone’s favorite pig races, you don’t want to miss out. Check out fiddlesticksfarms.com for more information.
Finally, if all the festivities are starting to stress you out, make your way to Benchmark’s next door neighbor for “Halloween Gentle Yoga” at Lacy J. Pilates. Poses start at 6:15pm. Here’s your chance to downward dog dressed as an actual dog! Lacyjpilates.com
