Join The Star Party
With clear skies and a balmy 24 degrees, what could more romantic than gazing at the stars? Well, here is your chance to drop some astronomy knowledge on someone close to you, and with those temperatures, everyone will be standing really close. Join fellow star gazers at the Blakemore Planetarium in Midland at 7pm Friday night for their monthly “Star Party”. Just a quick word to the wise. Call during business hours to make sure it doesn’t get cancelled because of the cold temps. You know how the city tends to shut down when weather is wintry. (Contact 683-2882)
Main Street Art Walk
Saturday, you can make the short drive to Big Spring to check out the “Main Street Art Walk” at 123 South Main Street. On the first Saturday of each month, local artists, craft vendors and organic farmers gather to show off their wares and vegetables. The event takes place from 4pm-10pm. And whatever you do, don’t call the town Big Springs. There’s no S on the end, and the locals don’t take too kindly to city folk pluralizing their town. (www.visitbigspring.com)
Vince Neil On Stage
“He’s the one they call Doctor Feelgood, he’s the one that makes you feel alright”. Yes, the incomparable Vince Neil, former lead singer of Motley Crue, will be gracing the Wagner Noel stage Saturday night at 8pm. Performing songs from his days with the Crue as well as some from his later solo albums, it’s guaranteed to be a night to remember. “Teacher don’t you fill me up with your rules, everybody knows that smokin’ ain’t allowed in school”.
