Your Weekend Guide – Jan 20-22, 2017

The answer my friend is blowin’ in the wind. The answer is blowin’ in the wind.

Well, if that’s the case, it looks like there will be lots of answers flying around this weekend in Midland. Batten down the hatches, and enjoy one of these great indoor events happening in the Basin.

Extreme Arenacross Nationals

Friday and Saturday night, the Ector County Coliseum will be hosting the 16th Annual O’Reilly Auto Parts Extreme Arenacross Nationals. Watch motorcycles and ATV race on the huge indoor track, but remember to bring your earplugs. (www.ectorcountycolisuem.org)

“Beethoven”

If motorcycles aren’t your thing, then maybe take out the earplugs and head over to the Wagner Noel Saturday night to enjoy “Beethoven”. The Midland-Odessa Symphony & Chorale present a wide ranging concert featuring the works of Mozart, Beethoven and Getz. John Gunther will be featured on saxophone and rest assured he’s no Kenny G, and for my money, that’s a good thing. (www.mosc.org)

Oak Ridge Boys

Oom pa pa, Oom pa pa, mow mow, my heart’s on fire for Elvira” Head back on out to the Wagner Noel on Monday night to see the Oak Ridge Boys in all their glory. With special guests The Gatlin Brothers (Rudy & Steve, but not Larry), this performance will be one to remember. (www.wagnernoel.com)
