As Spring Break comes to an end, and the kids are pumped to get back to school, take the weekend to relax and enjoy one of these events in Midland!
Permian Basin Comic Con, Fri-Sat
If Realtor Man and Reverse Mortgage Boy were actual comic book heroes, you might see them out and about at the Permian Basin Comic Con at the Midland Horseshoe Arena Friday through Saturday. But since they are not real, head on over to see some of the original Power Rangers, vehicles that have been on the big screen, cosplay galore, and live wrestling. Because nothing goes with comic book fandom like some good old fashioned wrestling. For a full schedule of events and ticket information, check out pbcomicconx.com. And if you want to make a Realtor Man costume to wear to the event, give us a call because we have lots of great ideas!
Adam Trent Presented By Live On Stage, Sun
If you are wanting some escapism from the day to day grind, go to the Wagner Noel on Sunday afternoon for what is described as a cross between David Copperfield and Justin Timberlake with “Live on Stage presents Adam Trent”. Combining part magic, part concert, and part stand up comedy, his approach allows him to connect with those of you who normally would rather do yard work than watch a magic show. The show starts at 2:30pm and tickets are available at www.wagnernoel.com. And with the time change, you will still have plenty of time for yard work immediately after.
Home Free, Tue
Technically not the weekend, unless you have the least stressful work week ever, next Tuesday night the fundraising concert for the Midland-Odessa Symphony & Chorale (MOSC) will feature musical group “Home Free”, the best known country acappella quintet since….okay, I don’t really know of any other country acappella groups, but they are really awesome!!! It’s also the kickoff for their nationwide tour. For more information on Home Free, check out homefreemusic.com. Tickets for the performance at Wagner Noel are available, and all the funds raised help with the costs of MOSC’s upcoming season. Go to www.mosc.org for more information.
